A quick note from around the Beach:
Don’t forget to make the most of everything on offer while you’re here. Take a soak at Athenree Hot Springs, explore one of our walking or bike trails, wander the Village shops, and pop into an eatery or café (or two). If you’re planning to stay a little longer, there are plenty of lovely holiday parks and accommodation providers to choose from as well.
Days at Waihī Beach can be as full or as slow as you like, that’s the beauty of it.
Just make sure you bring your phone or camera along so you can join in on the Colour Hunt 😉

Otawhiwhi Cultural Walk
This is always a standout, and for good reason. Join Reon Tuanau of Te Whānau a Tauwhao for a guided cultural walk through one of the most significant and beautiful areas in our region.
This gentle walk offers stunning views across Te Moana a Toi, with time taken to pause, reflect, and hear the rich stories of this land, including the history of Mananui Pā, a stronghold that once protected the people of Te Whānau a Tauwhao.
Reon is an incredible storyteller, and this is a truly special experience not to be missed.

Easter Weekend Colour Hunt
The Waihī Beach Easter Colour Hunt is a relaxed photography challenge inviting you to explore the Beach, Bowentown and Athenree through a creative lens.
Choose a colour from our above brand pallette, then spend the weekend capturing it!
At the end of the weekend, send through your six favourite images, and we’ll share some of the best on our socials, with a few spot prizes up for grabs.
No sign-up required, just choose a colour and get out there.

Surf Lifeguard Patrol Reminder
Our volunteer surf lifeguards are on patrol over Easter weekend, but once the long weekend wraps up, the beach will be unpatrolled until Labour Weekend.
If you see someone in trouble in the water outside patrol hours, call 111 immediately and ask for Police, who will activate the search and rescue team.
A big thank you to our lifeguards for everything they do to keep our beach safe.
